Our Events
What we’ve done

160 young people so they could attend the annual True Colors Convention in Storrs. CT. This is the largest conference of it’s kind in the US providing a safe environment for LGBTQ+ youth to learn through workshops, testimonials and interaction with their peers.

grants to 13 high schools in 2020 to support their Gay Straight Alliance activities.

financial support to QUEST (Queer, Unity, Empowerment, Support Team) of Waterbury for their Queer Youth Social Group in 2020 and 2021.

3 annual college scholarships to LGBTQ+ high school seniors through the Connecticut Community Foundation Scholarship program.

Rainbow Reader Libraries to 5 libraries in our area in conjunction with GLSEN, Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network, a national organization that supports GSA’s and does research among queer youth.

Team Sophie B Out of Darkness Walk for the CT Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

in establishing a Leadership Academy for Waterbury youth under the auspices of QUEST – a work in progress.
